This year I decided it was time to truly take a stand and make a difference in my community. I have always been very active within my local Jewish Community Center and started many mentorship programs through them, so it was time for the next step. I recently joined AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee; a non-partisan, pro-Israel organization that aims  to strengthen, protect and promote the U.S.-Israel relationship in ways that enhance both the security of the United States and Israel. With the AIPAC legislative conference quickly approaching I am very excited to attend and hear the incredible list of key note speakers

In an increasingly tumultuous Middle Eastern region, Israel is the one stable democratic ally which the United States can consistently depend on. Cooperation between our two countries in intelligence, security, missile defense and counterterrorism has helped America meet its growing security challenges. And as a result of their strong bond, the Israel Defense Forces and the U.S. military share technologies and techniques that greatly benefit both countries. Therefore it has become of utmost importance that the United States protect this friendship and tackle many of the difficult issues at hand. At the upcoming conference we will be discussing how to develop a comprehensive strategy to handle Iran and their continuing financial support of the Asaad regime, as well as their continual human rights violations, discussing how to increase sanctions on Hezbollah, and how to support direct negotiations between our two nations.

Speakers will include: Vice President Mike Pence, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Ambassador Vivian Bercovici, Consul General of Los Angeles Sam Grundwerg, and many more. I am looking forward to hearing all of their ideas and potential solutions and can’t wait to share my thoughts with all of you after the conference this weekend!
